Rosalee M. Leuenberger, 73, of Sumner, died Monday, January 29, 2018, at the Hillcrest Home in Sumner after a courageous battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, February 3, 2018, at St. John Lutheran Church in Sumner with Rev. Joyce Sandberg officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date at the church cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, February 2nd, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Becker-Milnes Funeral Home in Sumner and for one hour preceding services at the church on Saturday. Memorials may be made to the family for later designation.
Rosalee Mae, daughter of Leo and Arlene (Buhrow) Buchholz, was born September 23, 1944, in Waverly. She was baptized on October 13, 1944, at St. John’s United Church of Christ-Siegel and confirmed on March 30, 1948, also at St. John’s United Church of Christ-Siegel. Rosalee graduated from Tripoli High School in 1962. Rosalee was united in marriage with Dale Laube. To this union three children were born, Michael, Keith, and Tanya. The family made their home in New Hampton for many years. Rosalee was a homemaker for the majority of her life. On August 30, 2002, she was united in marriage with Ronald Leuenberger at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Clarksburg, West Virginia. The couple made their home in Sumner. Rosalee has been a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Sumner upon moving here and enjoyed traveling.
Rosalee is survived by her husband, Ron of Sumner; two sons, Michael (Marcia) Laube of Prior Lake, Minnesota and Keith (Julie) Laube of Montrose, Colorado; one daughter, Tanya (Robert) Leslie of Prosper, Texas; seven grandchildren, Myles Laube, Molly Laube, Jolisa (Jayson) White, Christian Laube, Amanda Laube, Kayla Leslie, and Emma Leslie; one great-granddaughter, Trinity White; one great-grandson, Devon White; one step-son, Kenny (Stacey) Leuenberger of Tripoli; one step-daughter, Kim (Vern) Fox of Independence; one step-grandson, Ethan Fox; five sisters, Shirley Redies, of Phoenix, Arizona, Betty (Dave) Nelson, of Waverly, Joann (Darrell) Blasberg, of Waverly, Diane (Lyle) Schmit of Peoria, Arizona, and Sandy (Gary) Wilkens of Nashua; three brothers, Vern (Wanda) Buchholz of Waverly, David (Linda) Buchholz of Waverly, and James Buchholz of Waterloo; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Elaine Buchholz; one brother-in-law, Wendell Redies; and nephew, Mitchell Blasberg.
